It is crazy how quickly Christmas passes. We spent from Thanksgiving on decorating the house on the inside and outside, ordering presents and shopping (Drew and Brenna will still shop for their gifts at the Dollar Tree :)), planning parties and buying food, jumping out of bed each and every day to see what our elves did. So much fun - so much Christmas spirit - so much innocence. But then the day comes and it is over before you know it. I know our years of special Santa mornings are getting shorter. This year, I loved watching their faces and tried to remember the sounds, the laughter and the excitement. As always, we had a birthday cake for Jesus for his 2020th birthday - Brenna sobbed when Drew asked, "Who is ZO- Zo?". As much a we missed our families and Christmas parties due to COVID, we did enjoy the extra time together. I love these kids more than they will ever know - I hope that one day our traditions will carry on: We always decorate the day after Thanksgiving, we talk about the different ornaments as we put them up, we cut down our tree each year (well except for the past two years due to the drought), we write letters to Santa, we spend a night looking at lights and visiting Santa, we watch Elf at least twice, we look for Gunner and Sparkles (our Elves); Santa wraps presents in a different paper for each kid, we leave Santa beer and cookies and carrots for the Reindeer. I love these days!

Summer summed up in one picture
Summer 2020 can be summed up in this one picture! Night after night, day after day, the kids were learning new things on the water or improving what they already knew. By the time summer was over, all three kids could slalom ski, the boys met their goals and Jason and I were in the boat cheering them on! With COVID and sheltering in place, this was probably the longest "summer break" we will ever have together. We learned a lot about each other and a lot about patience.

Brenna lost her first tooth (and used her brain!!)
For months and months, Brenna has had a loose tooth! The adult tooth grew in behind it, so the tooth just wouldn't come out. Over the weekend, it finally came out! She was so excited to be able to put her tooth in her tooth fairy pillow! I love these days - watching these huge steps in her life. She was so so so excited! Her personality shines these days - she is caring, empathetic and so smart. However, as you see if the first photo, she needs to explain how she uses her brain!!!
