Conner's first fishing tournament of 2013

Conner would fish sun up to sun down.  Every day, he wakes up ready to go out to the dock.  He was so excited when the lake decided to start up their crappie tournaments again.  Jason was going out of town the weekend of the tournament so Jeremiah volunteered to be Conner's partner in the tournament.  As a result, Conner required that Jeremiah come over each night the week before the tournament to prepare.  They rigged their lines, talked about lures and hot spots and practiced.  Conner even packed their lunch 5 days prior to the tournament.  The night before, he couldn't sleep - in the morning when it was time to get ready (at 5:30) he was wide away.  Jeremiah brought him his first coffee and off they went.  They didn't win the tournament but Conner had a great day.  My favorite part is that all of the fisherman were rooting for him - they truly love him.  Oh, the other best part was that Conner wanted he and Jeremiah to look like the pros so he made sure they had matching shirts.  You should have seen Jeremiah's face...a memory of a lifetime. 

Florida - 2013

We had such a great vacation this year!  Conner and Drew had a blast on the beach and in the pool.  It was relaxing and much needed for all of us!  We can't wait until next year!

Flood of 2013

The morning we were suppossed to leave for vacation, the lake was about a millimeter from coming in our house.  It was very scary but we were very blessed.  Many of our neighbors had more than 8 inches of water in their basements - we barely had any.  The boys thought it was the coolest thing that the crawdads and minnows were swimming on our patio!  We hope that this was the record and that the lake never gets any higher!

San-Fran-cisco!

Jason and I got away, by ourselves, for the first time in almost six years (I know...long time in the making).  We went to San Francisco and had a great time.  It is nice to remember what life used to before our boys were born...so unbelievably slow and quiet!

Spring time!

What a loooong winter!  I think we were all a little spoiled last year with swimming and boating at the beginning of April!  This year, all four of us were holding on for springtime - the minute it hit, we were ready to go!  The boys have been fishing, swimming (on accident) and creek stomping.  Cheers to an awesome spring/ Summer!

 PS.  We got a "new" boat this winter.  We sure will miss our old boat - but we are so excited to have more room!

Drew turns 3!

Drew celebrated his birthday three times this year!  Whew - we had a friend party, a suprise party at the Lantrip Easter (with Ali who was also turning three) and we celebrated on his actual birthday, which was on Easter Sunday this year.  For his friends party, Drew wanted a monster truck party.  He loves his monster trucks right now more than anything.  His favorite is Grave Digger (of couse) and his other favorite is Monster Mutt. We always have so much fun when all our family and friends come for the birthday parties!  Drew is getting so big - he talks (a lot), he gave up his Ninnie two weeks before his birthday, he loves to pretend that he is a buck, dog or a daddy, he loves to go fishing and hunting, he wants to be a Dad when he grows up, he is stubborn, he is hilarious, he screams to get what he wants, his favorite food is candy (that is all he wanted for his birthday) and he is excited to go to school next year!

Easter Fun

This year we celbrated Easter three times!  We had a blast at MawMaw and PawPaws, the Lantrip Easter and after the Easter Bunny came to our house.  Drew's birthday was on Easter this year as well which made it extra fun for all of us!

The boys still love to color their Easter Eggs.  This year, there were lots of Easter eggs decorated as ducks, big bucks and fish!
