I wonder what you're doing right now

and if everyone is treating you kind.

I hope there is a special person,

a nice friend that you can find.

I wonder if the teacher knows just

how special you are to me.

And if the brightness of your heart

is something she can see.

I wonder if you are thinking about

me and if you need a hug.

I already miss the sound of your voice

and how you give my leg a tug.

I wonder if you could possibly understand

how hard it is for me to let you grow.

On this day know that my heart breaks,

for this is the first step in letting my baby go.

Conner's Summer of Water Sports!

Conner has done such an amazing job on the water this summer!  We are so proud of him!  He is skiing, wake boarding and wake surfing.  It took a little bit of pushing him at the beginning of the summer but now he loves to get out there and try new things.    

Conner's 6th Birthday Party - Duck Style!

 Six years.  I can't believe it - Six years. Seems like just yesterday that Conner Mac was born but then again, it seems like forever ago.  This year has been a big year of change for him - he has grown so much in school, he is not as shy, he is testy, he is more willing to try things, he has opinions (sometimes strong ones), he is sensitive and he truly loves others. He still loves to fish, creek stomp, ride 4-wheelers and hunt.  This year he started loving to ski, wakesurf and tube.  He has really improved all of those skills. He asks lots of questions yet has lots of answers.  His best friends range in age from 5 to 82 - he loves the older fisherman at the lake as much as he loves the boys he has grown up with. He is really a great kid with a huge heart and a soft spot for all things outdoors.  Since Duck Dynasty started - Conner has asked for a Duck Dynasty birthday party.  We had so much fun planning it over the past year!  Some of the things he wanted (ie, squirrel brains) ended up being too difficult or too gross so my friends and I made things that looked just the same.  We had a great day and all of the kids had tons of fun and learned a lot from the Brownsburg Hunting Club. I am so proud to be Conner's mom. I can't wait to see what else is in store for him!

Summer Fun!

Conner's first fishing tournament of 2013

Conner would fish sun up to sun down.  Every day, he wakes up ready to go out to the dock.  He was so excited when the lake decided to start up their crappie tournaments again.  Jason was going out of town the weekend of the tournament so Jeremiah volunteered to be Conner's partner in the tournament.  As a result, Conner required that Jeremiah come over each night the week before the tournament to prepare.  They rigged their lines, talked about lures and hot spots and practiced.  Conner even packed their lunch 5 days prior to the tournament.  The night before, he couldn't sleep - in the morning when it was time to get ready (at 5:30) he was wide away.  Jeremiah brought him his first coffee and off they went.  They didn't win the tournament but Conner had a great day.  My favorite part is that all of the fisherman were rooting for him - they truly love him.  Oh, the other best part was that Conner wanted he and Jeremiah to look like the pros so he made sure they had matching shirts.  You should have seen Jeremiah's face...a memory of a lifetime. 

Florida - 2013

We had such a great vacation this year!  Conner and Drew had a blast on the beach and in the pool.  It was relaxing and much needed for all of us!  We can't wait until next year!
