Conner and Drew both raced their 4-wheelers and their power wheels for the first time this summer! It was so much fun to watch - but nerve wrecking at the same time. Both boys did very well during their 4-wheeler races. However, at the end of Drew's race, he looked back to see where we were and hit a rut and fell off of his 4-wheeler. I was nervous - but I was thankful that he knows our volunteer firefighters and that they were the ones working the finish line. They scooped him right up and waited for us to make it down there. Even though the boys are very young riders, and I get nervous, I am thankful that they know how to drive and know how to ride. I love watching them as they slowly stand up making the turns, knowing that their bodies have to be in the perfect position to not tip and to keep going fast. I love watching as they put their arm over the passenger seat in their power-wheels and back up into their spots in the garage in two seconds. Most of all, I love it that they ride with so many of their friends and I am thankful for the parents and grandparents of those kids. We get together on Sundays to ride and we always have dinner together afterwards. I love living in a place where everyone becomes your family.
