November 17, 2018 was an amazing day at the McClellan house! Jason takes turns taking the boys out hunting because it is too difficult for him to watch both of them at the same time. So, on opening Saturday of shotgun season, it was Drew's turn to go on the morning hunt. We got a call about 9:30 that Drew had a big buck down! When I told Conner, he was excited but also sad because he had not yet shot a buck. He said, "Mom, do you think I will ever get a buck? The only bucks I have seen are ones that other people shot or live ones behind cages." My whole family started praying to the patron saint of deer hunting - Saint Herbert! We took Drew's deer in and then Jason and Conner left for the evening hunt about 2:30. At 3:10 we got a call that Conner had a big buck down!!! I couldn't believe it! We were all so excited! What was even better was that the family at Baker's camp was even more excited than we were! Conner got his first buck after being in the stand for just 10 minutes - AMAZING! We are so proud of both of them and so VERY thankful!
"May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hands"
