Nationals!

Conner had an amazing time at Nationals!  I hope that one day he is blessed enough to be able to compete at that level again!  His goal was to finish in the top half and catch at least three fish a day.   He finished 21st out of 56 boats and caught his limit each day!  More than that, BASS put on a first class event - they boys were treated like royalty: sponsors gave away swag, they had motivational speakers talk to the boys, they announced each team and let each boy give their thanks.   Conner was able to attend Nationals, in part, to donations from family and friends.   I am hopeful that the biggest lesson Conner will remember is how good it feels to receive in hope that one day he can give to and support other children.   Each week, he wrote his sponsors a letter telling them how he was preparing for the tournament and how thankful he was.  I am so very proud of Conner.  He is amazing in every since of the word!

Hilton Head 2018

With Conner making it to Nationals, we had to reschedule our summer vacation!  We ended up in Hilton Head, South Carolina and it ended up being the perfect little get-away.   We had fun at the beach, in the pool, fishing, going to the spa and visiting Savannah, Georgia!  As always, the best part of vacation is just sitting back and watching the kids - it is amazing how much you miss about them on a day to day basis when the demands at home and work take your attention away.  You miss out on the every day things - how they are when they first get up, how they have learned to ask more meaningful questions, how they are such creatures of habit, how they love more deeply each year and most of all, how much they don't need Jason and I anymore.  They all three do almost everything for themselves.   I am so proud of all three of them!

Girls Only!~

On fishing tournament weekends while the boys in the McClellan house are away, Brenna and I get to PLAY!   We had so much fun with her friends Preslee and Makenna!   I can only imagine what these girls will be like in college....very similar I am sure...sweet and sassy!

Conner is going to NATIONALS!

This year Conner joined Southeastern Bassanglers to compete in Indiana BASS Fishing.   He and his fishing partner Joshua fished Patoka, Brockville, Wawasee and Monroe.   They did a great job and learned so much- especially because all of the lakes were so different than Heritage.  Conner and Josh did so well that they won State for the entire Indiana league and will be going to Nationals in just a couple of weeks!  We are so proud of him for working so hard and chasing his dreams!!
