Right after Drew was delivered, he was taken to the NICU because he had fluid on his lungs. They say this is common with babies delivered via cesarean, but I will tell you that it was one of the scariest things Jason and I have ever dealt with. Drew was admitted and spent the first 24 hours of his life in the NICU. We could not hold or feed him. It was a blessing that Jason was allowed to go in and hold his hand. My nurse also wheeled me, bed - IV's and all, into see him as well. All of our prayers were answered and he was released to us around 9:30 on April 1st! We are so thankful for all of the wonderful nurses and doctors at Hendricks County!
Conner is a very big help with Drew. The first few days, I must admit, were more of an adjustment than I ever dreamed of. Conner struggled with having someone new at our house. Slowly, he has adjusted and seems to be in a great place right now. He asks to hold Drew and talks a lot about all that they have in common. It also helps that Jason is home for three weeks because he and Conner do a lot of special things and then Jason takes Drew so that I can have my time with Conner. Jason and I are truly blessed and it is with much joy that we introduce you to Drew...
