Florida 2010

We returned to the beautiful beaches of Siesta Key for our vacation this year. We stayed at the Sarasota Surf and Raquet Club with Toby, Tiffany, Brody, Beckett and Saylor. Both boys did great on the plane. Conner was very interested in the airplane itself and the pilots. On the way back home he was able to go into the cockpit with the pilots. His new favorite this is to "put the hammer down". The pilots showed him how you put the "hammer down" in an airplane. Both boys also did great at the beach and at the pool. Drew did not get to spend too much time outside because of the heat, but we still had a great time strolling him up and down the beach. All of the kids! Aren't they all getting so big!
I love this picture of the boys. Drew sported his speedo all week long...I am sure that he is going to love me for that some day!

Conner was a big helper with Drew all week (sometimes too much help!). As you can see Drew stayed shaded and acted as our beach bag at the same time!

We also visited the Sarasota Jungle Gardens again. The boys all had so much fun holding and feeding the animals.

We also visited the Mote Aquarium.
It was great to get away and to spend time together again. This year Jason took off work for four weeks after Drew was born, so it has been quite and adjustment with his return to work. To be honest, I think I realized it was going to be difficult to have more than one child; just in the fact that you have to attend to both children when you were used to attending to just one; but I did not realize is how hard it is to balance the time you give to both kids. We are slowly, but surely, figuring out how to make it work. Drew is definitely a little trooper. Since the weather has been beautiful, Conner always wants to be outside. So, we just take a little blanket out with us, find the shade and let Conner play while Drew naps. I think that Jason and I are also more brave this second time around. Drew has been many more places and on many more outings than Conner at this age. One helpful factor is that Drew loves being in the car and Conner screamed every time we even looked at the car seat. Conner is also a great help and loves to talk to and hold Drew for us (even if that only lasts for two minutes!). I am so excited to watch both boys grow and their relationship with each other grow. I can only imagine what is in store!

All things NEW about DREW at TWO months old!

It is so hard to believe that Drew was two months old yesterday! Time is flying by us for sure. Drew is holding his head up very well these days. It amazes me how much he looks like Jason and Conner now that he can actually turn and look at us. He has the cutest chubby cheeks as you can tell! He is also starting to talk which is so much fun. He just goos and coos all of the time. I love it when he realizes that he was the one who made the noise...his voice gets louder and louder and his hands and his feet start moving all about! Drew is also focusing on things a lot more. His favorite items this week are me, Conner, Daddy and the ceiling fans! He also loves to read just like his big brother!
Drew has also started to smile over the past week. I forgot how much that drool encrusted, no teeth smile can melt your heart! My favorite smiles from him are at our night-time feedings. He looks up at me with this I love you smile that makes me smile every single time. We are all having so much fun watching him grow!
As you can see, Drew got to go on his first boat ride in early April. Conner was trying to teach him how to put the "hammer down". I am in so much trouble!

We go next week for Drew's two month appointment. I can't wait to see how big he is. At his one month appointment he weighed in at 10 lbs 12 oz (exactly the 50th percentile...even though you would think he was in the 90th percentile with those cheeks!).

Easter 2010

Drew was released from the hospital two days before Easter! However, we were lucky enough that the Easter Bunny was in Danville and stopped to see all of the kids at the hospital! Easter with Conner was so much fun this year. He really enjoyed "hunting" them. Yes, he thought he was actually going to shoot Easter eggs...I know, definitely his father's son. We had a great day with MawMaw Jacque, PawPaw Jerry and Patrick!
As you know from Christmas, Conner gets very excited about leaving Santa (and now the Easter Bunny) treats for when they visit our house. We often find him going through the cabinets and setting treats out "just in case" Santa comes. So as you see, the Easter Bunny got beer, orange joice, cookies, doughnuts and carrots. What a lucky Easter Bunny!

Conner's first hunting trip!

So Jason decided to take the plunge during turkey season this year and take Conner hunting for this first time. So it was the real deal. I watched as Jason went in to wake Conner up very early in the morning. He leaned over and whispered, "Conner, are you ready to go hunting with Daddy?" Conner jumped up and was ready to get his "hunting clothes" on. Conner must have brought Jason tons of luck, because Jason and Conner both got their first turkey's that day. I don't know who was more excited, Jason or Conner. Drew and I were very excited when we got the call that they got one! Conner kept saying that this turkey slept a lot!!!
Jason is one proud daddy!

Drew's Newborn Pictures

Here are just a few of Drew's newborn pictures. Isn't he just precious? I love all of his hair and his goregous blue eyes. I am posting these almost 7 weeks later and it brings tears to my eyes to realize how much he has already grown!
Conner loves for people to "look at mine muscles!"

The one below is my favorite. I forgot how newborns can sleep any where through any thing!
